BalboaBayWindow
Sometimes I spend time looking at what animals are roaming in a certain area. I may follow them a bit and observe. It would be nice to have some positive animal interactions in the game. I think one or two might be something that could increase enjoyment without too much effort. 1. Field guide of animals to spot. As more animals are added, the ability to document and observe animals (birds for example) would be nice. Binoculars could be used to spot them. You could learn to identify them by call as well. 2. Feeding an animal. If you're close enough to an herbivore that isn't startled and somehow able to feed it. Nothing interesting other than being able to achieve it without spooking it. 3. Caring for an injured animal. Say you spot an injured animal and have 5 days to nurse it back to health. Finding plants or some randomly spawned item on your map to help and then send it on its way. Stick for splint or water and food. 4. Random migrating deer. Find a group of animals that are migrating to an area and observe or see what else follows them (wolves)? 5. seeds thrown to attract birds (would require birds) 6. We already see wolf prints from when they walk in areas. Additional animal prints so you could see if a bear or a bird or fox or rabbit has been through. Perhaps see a struggle based on big bear prints and rabbit prints. Wouldn't require animals actually being there, just tracks.
Catalysticca
i like your idea of caring for an injured animal. It's probably been said before, but i think a companion animal of some kind, tamed dog/wolf/something else, would be realistic and add an interesting element of the animal helping alert and protect you, but also having you having to feed and make sure animal is sufficiently cared for.
