Fireplaces and Stove locations

I've always thought it was a tad unrealistic that there is neither a wood burning stove or fireplace on either the misanthrope's island or jackrabbit island in CH. It seems like remote houses on islands with no electrical connections would almost certainly have  wood burning stoves and fireplaces. Just sayin.

Makes sense.  I'm guessing the reason they didn't add one is to keep the level of "scarcity of certain resources" in effect.

At least they could put in a stove/fireplace and make it broken and unusable or something if they don't want to make it easy.  Some of these houses are a bit poorly-designed.  Like the ones in Milton where there's no bedroom for adults, just a crib...

I think they should put one in but have the chimney be all clogged.  The player starts a fire and asphyxiates into The Long Dark.

It's always possible those sites ran on propane heat but I don't recall seeing propane cylinders either.

Another good possibility. You'd think the stove would at least be propane though.
