More interaction with the environment

I'm pretty new to the game and forums, so it's likely someone else has had this suggestion, but:

I'd really like the ability to manipulate more of the environment.  I can break a chair into kindling, but I can't put it back on it's feet.  In one of the trailers by the dam, I can break down all the shelving and have scrap metal until I starve... but I'll keep tripping over that coffee pot until the end of time.

There are mugs and pots and pans around on tables and other surfaces, which definitely adds to the mood and feel of the game.... but I can't shift an old mug from a shelf if I want to stack cans up there.

On a related note, it would be lovely if, when moving books around, they could stand on end, or stack on top of each other.  Right now if I want to keep a library, I need to make a carpet. ;)

Your idea points to a cosmetical aspect of the game but yeah i would like to see this. It just feels better to bring things in order and place them where they belong to like you do in your home. It would improve the atmosphere of the game a lot thus i don´t even think that this is an unimportant aspect of the game especially since it is prominently recognzied for being atmospheric!

YES to this!!!! I am a bibliophile in real life so in the game I can't get myself to burn them. The horror!

Often I have to make extra trips back and forth to other maps because I'm determined to bring them all back to my camp. At the moment I've set up camp in Trappers cabin, but I have limited space to put things there. Being able to place a books on a shelf would be great!
