The old hunting bug

Hey gang. Anyone know if the old bug with bear hunting is still around, and possibly applies to moose? 
To be clear, there's been a bug where if after shooting a bear, you run inside, it can make the bear forget that it was shot. I just put three arrows in a moose, then slammed a door in his face. When I came back outside, after reading for an hour, I found my three arrows, just lying on the ground outside the door. 

I'm guessing this means that I should assume the moose is still a healthy bull?

Your experience suggests that the bug is still alive and well..

Incidentally, I've had the bug happen once with a deer.

And I'm impressed that you managed to get 3 arrows into the moose before he reached you..

I hit him the first two times from far enough away that he didn't know where to run. The third one, I got a little closer. Oops.

I dont think its a bug. I think they do it intentionally otherwise it would be too easy to kill what is considered "lategame boss"
