hozz1235
I'm very new to the forums but have played the game on and off since inception. Reading through the forums are many discussions about wolves and how people try to avoid them. My recent play-through, I'm only on day 100 of Voyageur but I actually carry around raw meat to attract wolves so I can kill them for more meat, hide and guts. One shot with my bow (lvl 3 currently) sometimes kills them. If not, a few whacks with a hatchet quickly finishes them off. Quarter it and move on. Reading the forums reminded me of the ability to bait (duh!) so I'm going to start doing that to hopefully pick them off with the bow before they attack me. Easy meals that come to me! Am I missing something?
EricTheGreat12
Most people play on Stalker and Interloper, and therefore the wolves are harder to deal with in their case. Some people are just scared of having to deal with them I guess. Plus, if you do not have any bait, you can end up in a struggle and therefore lose an important % of your clothing
Meat
I've played this way many times. The problem is that by about DAY 40 (in Voyageur), you realize that you have more food than you can consume, especially if you like to occasionally supplement your diet with fish and other wildlife. You also end up with material to make enough wolfskin coats to last you 'till the end of time. By DAY 100, you find yourself making week-long excursions across the island just to find another birch sapling or two just to maintain your habit. But yeah, in Voyageur, wolves are more of a food source than a hazard.
