omoon66
When is the worst time you’ve gotten (or risked getting) cabin fever? Was there a time cabin fever put your life at risk? Did it end up killing you in one way or another? Post your stories here
Fuarian
When I was camped at the old Forestry Lookout and had not enough wood for a fire or snow shelter. And it's cold up there!
Mroz4k
This will probably sound strange. In my +1000 hours of TLD, I have only gotten the Cabin fever twice. In both cases, I have survived without any major issues. Once I let it happen on purpose, to give myself an excuse to spend a night in a fishing cabin, just to spice things up a bit. Once I have gotten it on accident because I was cut off by a blizzard, so I simply stayed indoors for almost a day, taking the hit of exhaustion because of it, to wait it out, and then slept in a cave when the weather was more favorable. I think that many people see Cabin Fever as this horrible thing that they need to get rid off as soon as possible, and this is what gets people killed. When really, the only thing Cabin fever is ian inconvinience - well, not in case of Interloper, but on Voyager which is what I mostly play, it can be easily survived in a closeby outdoor location if you have the fuel reserves to handle it. (you should always have a good outdoor location close to primal base, like a fishing hut of a ruined shack, for example.) But really, as long as you dont attempt to hibernate too much and maximalize the amount of good and decent weather outside, then the managing of cabin fever risk is not that bad. Again, at least on the Voyageur. But I find that camping outside on Stalker is really not that bad, either. Worse, but not terribly bad. But my experience doesnt count with Aurora. Pretty sure that makes things a lot more difficult outside.
KinoUnko
Never had cabin fever except when I spent many hours making a wolfskin coat or something. A day's walk outside and/or a night in a cave takes care of it.
Kendov
I also only ever once had cabin fever from -really- wanting to complete that bear coat. I have a habit of hoarding wood and food whenever I don't have anything much better to do, so I grabbed my supplies and camped out in a cave with a nice fire. Stayed there for a while even after the fever was down, just for the atmosphere.
