Arzanot
So I was setting up in a fishing hut, with lumber/water/food (to be caught) for some weeks to a month. Around day 3 i checked my bedroll and it was around 80% durability. I started setting up some defense perimeters around the fishing hut on day 6, slept another night and finished it up. After finishing on day 7 I went in to pick up the bedroll and go back to Pleasant Valley Farmstead, cause i was lacking sewing kits and cloth. When i tried to pick up the bedroll it simply vanished, and I got the system message: "Bedroll: worn out". Is this a bug or can the bedroll really wear out that quickly? We're talking 80%->destroyed in 4 days. What's the percentage range where decay can instantly destroy a bedroll?
Fuarian
It's the wind throughout time that worn it out. If the hut had a door it would've been better. Next time pack up your bedroll and store it when leaving the hut.
Samsonguy920
Even if I am somewhere for a long duration, I never leave my bedroll behind. For one thing, you could be tracking a wounded animal and end up in a storm too far from your main shelter. Without a bedroll, you will definitely be in trouble unless you get lucky and find yourself near a bed. For another, you might forget you don't have it on you, and decide to head to another region. Bad mojo. Never, ever, take things for granted in The Long Dark. That's a swift way to end up dead.

An unattended bedroll should only deteriorate at 0.2% per day. Where it's left shouldn't make any difference. Possibly something has changed recently, and maybe some testing is needed, but bedroll mechanics have been the same way for a long time now. It seems unlikely that something has changed. One thing that's possible is that wear rates are different when it's unrolled and flat on the floor, compared to when it's rolled up. There's no data for this that I'm aware of, and the wikis make no mention of it.
Mroz4k
I am not so sure its a bug, and it has been that way for a while, I think since before Cartographer. I once did the exact thing OP mentioned, during my play on Voyageur 200days survival at Timberwolf Mountain. I left my bedroll deployed, sticking out of the hut a bit, for three days - when I came back, the condition of it deteorated down to almost 30%. I think if the bedroll is deployed rather then just dropped on the ground in a bundle, it may be succeptible to weather changes. But this is something that would need testing to know for sure. Arzanot
The worst part is I left it inside a fishing hut that had a door with a fire burning, but forgot to close the door. Maybe the heat had something to do with the decay aswell. Had to drag my ass to Desolation Point, for another, because I hate using the Bear bedroll.
