CTD after update

I haven't had time to play since the Wintermute update until now and now, when I do, I'm getting CTDs (crash to desktop) no matter if I try to play Wintermute or Survival. Sometimes right when I load into the gameplay, sometimes a few minutes in, but never in the menus.

Some excerpts from my crash logs are:
AkSoundEngine.dll caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005) in module AkSoundEngine.dll at 0023:77eff685.
Read from location 80000000 caused an access violation.

Is there something wrong on my end or is there some bug with the game that the developers have to fix? The game has worked flawlessly before this patch.
