Rifle lacks "oomph"

Hey, this is my first post here, so I'm just going to hop into it;

I've been playing for a little while now, and have had a lot of fun, but I just used the rifle for the first time in-game, and it really took me out of the experience... I don't know if this has been brought up before, but the gunshot lacked the powerful, echoing crack I was expecting to hear.

I'd personally really like to feel like when I fire the rifle, it echoes through the valley, and everyone and everything hears it. I was also a little disappointed that the deer I shot just... dropped. From what I've seen, shooting a deer rarely kills them instantly. Typically, they run a short distance before dying, and I was really expecting that.

Is there any chance that firing a rifle will feel more dramatic in the future? I'd really like to see it!

IRL it seems to be random. Some drop like a sack of bricks. But I cleaned a deer that I shot in the heart and it ran 30 yards with hamburger meat for a pumping organ.
