Wolf ate my bedroll

So I decided to go from ML to FM to learn to live with nature, to learn the map and how to survive, I get attacked by a wolf near the forge, get the clothing damage condition. I checked my clothing, no damage at all, but when I check my inventory, by bedroll that was almost fully repaired turned into a ruined rag

Is this supposed to happen or did I find a very nasty bug??
