OptimusCrime
Hey there; Not sure if i'm the only one who has experienced this (on PC) but sometimes I get a really creepy sound bug. Currently 100+ days on a Voyager sandbox game, base is pleasant valley farmstead, and it's occurring more and more. If I have the game alt-tabbed overnight, and I happen to be inside a structure, when I leave the building I hear almost 'ghost' type footsteps. It's deer/wolf footsteps, but it sounds like they are right behind me, even though when I turn around I can't see anything. I can sprint away, and the footsteps will disappear from my sound, yet the moment I stop, I hear them catching up. It's like a second set of footsteps, it's creepy as hell, and I think it's more a bug of wildlife not loading in visually. I've heard a wolf sprinting before and the snarl of a wolf attack, yet nothing appears, there's no wolf visible on screen. Trying to be as descriptive as possible, it's just a weird bug i've encountered (either that or my character is actually going insane.) Cheers guy! Carbon
Yes, Alt-Tabbing causes me some sound issues as well. When I do it, all environmental sounds desist. I can hear my foot steps, rifle cocking, eating, etc, but no sounds arrive from the land. No wind, to be exact. Also, even without alt-tabbing, I hear footsteps coming from places where there is no animal. They are around, but not where from the sound emanates. It seems as an echo or some kind of strange reflective trick. It used to make me jump, to hear a wolf right next to me, but I am now used to it. Maybe Unity issues? It used to creep the hell out of me, just hearing footsteps walking behind you, only to turn around and see nothing. Not sure if it's a unity issue (I figure it it's unity, more people would have this issue), so i'm guessing hardware/software? I still run Windows XP, maybe it's an issue with an older OS? Carbon
I'm using Windows 10, with quite new hardware, so I don't think it has anything to do with either. I am also unsure as to how modified the core of Unity is within TLD, so I furthermore have no way of knowing where the issue actually originates. WildGata
I sometimes hear a creepy drippy noise when I'm inside a house, all my clothes are dry, nothing seems wet, but there is that leaky creepy drippy spooky noise >.>. Also when I alt-tab while cooking or starting a fire, the fire noise stops all the sudden. Spoohooky!
BlueJack20
Necroing this thread. I got that wolf sound issue once or twice. The wolf was far (at least not close enough for me to hear their footsteps), but I could hear it as if it was next to me. Happens with deer as well, making stalking them kind of hard since I couldn't tell which direction they are moving to if I'm hiding behind a tree.
