karabass Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 I want to ask you to enable keyboard controls during the "rest" dialog, same as choosing the amount of items to move. It's annoying to click my mouse 12 times if I want to sleep "as much as I can". It would be much easier to press a button 12 times or just press "right" key and wait My second proposal is to let a game remember the last tool used during branch breaking, same as the game remembers the tool used during previous harvest of animal.
AHGoodwin Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 Although this would be an improvement, I would personally like to take it a step further and be able to type a number. Perhaps helpful for sleep, but even more useful for inventory management. And I agree that it should either remember our tool choice, or perhaps allow us to set a default tool for each action.
TSmith Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 I mentioned this about the "tool usage" in the Steam forums When cooking you can scroll up and down with the mouse wheel or use the W/S keys to select what you wanna cook, u can use the A/D keys to select the amount of snow you wanna melt, or water to boil. But every time you wanna break a branch you have to move the mouse cursor to select. Kinda seems odd that the tool selection is about the only thing you cant control from the keyboard. Kind of odd and breaks the immersion IMO
karabass Posted July 28, 2016 Author Posted July 28, 2016 I guess it's the console legacy since on the console you use different controls in those cases. For example you are harvesting a deer. W-S to choose a meat/skin/guts, A-D to choose amount, and no more keys you can use to choose a tool in the upper right corner. But on the consoles they DO have extra buttons/joysticks so the "tool" menu is bound to a different control list, so to say.
