Journal is not properly tracking fires started.

I just had a character die, and was scanning through the journal, and happened to notice that it said I had only started five fires. I lived for almost 50 days, and had almost a level 5 fire starting skill. My guess is that its only tracking campfires, and not fires in stoves and fireplaces. I also noticed that my all time high was 19, so, I figure this has gotta be it. I thought it was funny that my progress towards the firestarting badge seemed to be going up REALLY slowly. By the way, 1000 fires for this badge is ridiculous. Thats over 12 and a half hours of real time, just lighting fires one after the other, if you never fail. 500 seems a better number to me. I had been playing an old character, that had been alive since way back before the desolation point expansion, and I figured it just wasnt tracking that characters fires properly. But I KNOW i've started at least 300 fires since those badges were added, and I only have 10% progress. Something isnt working properly. With this particular character, almost every fire I started was in the fireplace at mountaineers hut. I may have lit one in the stove at the fishing shack, but Im quite certain it didnt track them properly.

Do you recall what version this save file was started on?

No, I honestly have no idea about the old character, but the one I noticed the issue with was started on the current version.  I also did some more testing after posting this, with another character started under the current version, and his fires also were not tracked by the journal. I started 3, one in each of the stoves at the camp office, and then went outside and lit a campfire, and only the campfire was tracked. I'm about to do a file check on steam, and make sure im not corrupted and will report back.  *EDIT I have completed a file validation via steam, and all files were validated. If theres something wrong with my install, steam didnt find it.

2nd Edit.  I just started a new character, and lit 5 fires. 1 in the stove at deadfall area, 1 in each stove at camp office, 1 campfire, and 1 in the first ice fishing hut on ML. It tracked all 5.  ****SIGH****  I'm not making this up, I swear.  

3rd Edit  OK, I figured it out. Although your skill tracks each fire started, the journal, and I presume, the "fire master" badge is only tracking campfires (since each one is unique) and the very first fire you light in any given stove or fireplace. 2nd and 3rd fires lit in each of those above mentioned stoves were not tracked.  BTW, I'm out of matches, any chance I could get some help with that?

Yeah, my current journal says 6 fires started.  I'm day 30ish on stalker. I reckon I've started closer to 15 fires, 6 is definitely nonsense at any rate.

I have also noticed that fires in stoves only seem to count the first time.
