Toolboxes Smoosh Together When Dropped

I did a search and didn't find anything, but this has got to be a duplicate.  Just in case.  Most of the time when I drop things they sort of pile so you can see the items are "piled".  Not tool boxes.  Here's a pic which pretty much shows what I'm talking about.  The sewing kit is there to show that things do pile here.

Most items don't have collision detection against other items, once placed by the player. This is intended.

And dropping counts as placing? I was wondering about this because I can't do it on purpose with things like logs
