BeautyOfWorlds
OKay, so I'm not sure whether I'm missing something, but I can't figure this out so I thought I'd ask. I'm playing the challenge Nomad, and currently located in Pleasant Valley. I had began to craft deerskin boots, in the Barn I think, but moved on to the radio hut before completing them. Now I'm attempting to finish them at the crafting table, and it says I have insufficient materials, despite having the unfinished boots in my pack, and the progress bar on the bench does say they're in progress. Is it meant to be that you can't start a project at one bench and finish it at another? I'm sorry if I'm not reporting this properly, I've never done this before. Thanks! Survivor66
When crafting is not completed the unused materials will still be in your inventory. Did you store or use the materials?
BeautyOfWorlds
OH! I thought I was missing something. I guess I never thought of that, since I can drop both the in-progress boots and the cured hide and see them as separate items, it never occurred to me that they were actually the same thing. That is a little confusing for realism's sake. Thank you so much!
hauteecolerider
Actually, it's not, once you see how things are handled in the inventory. If you watch your inventory during crafting, you'll see that the number of skins will go down with time. So a half finished pair of boots will also have (I think) 1 hide remaining in your inventory (the other is already cut and crafted into the boots). If you go back into crafting with just the half-a-pairoboots in your inventory, you won't be able to finish, as @Survivor66 said. You'll have to retrieve the remaining materials and try again in order to finish.
