TinyMouseGirl
***Ugh, I started a topic on this but it somehow didn't post so I'm starting again. Apologies if my original topic is regurgitated up from the depths at some point!*** Ok, I'm in the Mountaineer's Hut on Timberwolf Mountain. A blizzard rolls in and I start a fire. The blizzard goes on and on and on, so I add a lot of fuel to the fire over time to keep it going and end up with a heat output of +80c. I have +11c clothing bonus. My "feels like" temp when standing next to the fire is 51c. I assume from this that the 'base' air temp in the hut is -40c. Eventually, the blizzard stops howling but my "feels like" stays at 51c, so I keep my fire going (the whole time the fire has been lit, I have been cooking, boiling water etc.). A few hours later, I'm almost out of fuel so I decide I have to duck outside and grab some more. Outside, at a reasonable distance from the hut, my "feels like" is 0c. I go back inside, "feels like" is still 51c. I'm not sure what is going on here? I always use the "feels like" temp, clothing bonus and fire bonus to work out the 'base' air temp and decide if I need to keep my fire going. In this scenario, I assumed that if I let my fire go out, I'd be at "feels like" -29c (-40 + 11c clothing bonus). If that maths is flawed, I'm wastin' wood!
