Eames
Right now if you catch parasites, you are basically given a free pass to eat as much wolf meat as you want since it won't affect your condition. Eating meat should raise percentage of a reset.
MarrowStone
Hmm, stackable parasite conditions, thats a pretty simple and effective workaround, good idea! Totally do-able.
Dirmagnos
Parasites shouldnt be an issue to begin with, since proper cooking would normally eliminate any threat of them. But yes, that free pass thingie is weird. Since this lame feature is probably here to stay, it should have lower chance to occur(1% instead of 2%) and less meds to cure, but eating carnivores meat while this condition is active should have chance to reapply condition, resetting counter and have small chance to be "upgraded" to some more serious health problem. Eames
It's not realistic but it's there so that you can't live off of wolf meat solely.
simarson
In the first place 1% chance for getting is very rare. You start out as a basic rookie cook not knowing anything about the parasites and how to make it safe. Make cooking skill bonus deal with it. Except that this "feature" does not address actual problem of wolves being way 2 weak(and 2 abundant) in any way. Just piles more on top of it. 2 hours ago, simarson said: In the first place 1% chance for getting is very rare. You dont really need to be a chef to be able to cook meat. And its general knowledge, that man like Will should have picked up already, considering his age, that food needs to be properly processed and prepared for it to be safe. Like washing hands and thoroughly cooking meat. Its absolute basics.

Then the devs should change the wolves so they don't effectively throw themselves on your knife, and on your plate. Right now, I am leaving whole wolf carcasses to rot because even a 1% chance of infection is too much for my tastes. They are so common as to be trivial, and I can easily "afford" to leave multiple entire carcasses out. It is trivial to chase one of the too-numerous deer into one of the too-numerous wolves to get safe-to-eat meat. If the parasites was supposed to solve anything, it failed. Hard. 3 hours ago, simarson said: In the first place 1% chance for getting is very rare. You start out as a basic rookie cook not knowing anything about the parasites and how to make it safe. Make cooking skill bonus deal with it. Generally, anyone that survives to adulthood, especially a rough-and-tumble life like Will, should generally know how to make food safe to eat via cooking. This is my problem with "skills" in most games. Not that they exist, but how they are generally implemented. Usually, your character starts out with skill levels that indicate your character was functionally incompetent at life before the game, and end up with "Sublime Skill Excellency" at the end, all through repeating the same action over and over again. In real life, I am pretty good at building fires, but that doesn't mean I don't need tinder. Or that I can somehow make a piece of food gain more calories by roasting it on a fire 500 times. Sorry, but the skills implemented in the latest patch are cool, but they completely remove any sense of immersion I had for the game.
simarson
The person Will is about the story. The sandbox is about you.
Eames
One idea I have to fix wolf meat is to make single wolves avoid you like deer do. Once there's two or more wolves that got together only then they would follow you (but would still run if chased) and wait for when you're weakened to attack.
