IMPORTANT, ALMOST NECESSARY BUILDING IDEA! MUST READ!

I apologize for the caps, but this is urgent, there is a thing known as "Compulsory Education"  The definition is below

Compulsory education refers to a period of education that is required of persons, imposed by law. In some countries the education needs to take place at a registered school.

HUGE problem! There isnt a school in this game! It would not only be in tone with the game, but it kind of NEEDS to exist!

Not in remote areas like what we've seen so far in this game.

Where would a school placement be a good idea?

Not Timberwolf Mountain - no family homes here.

Not Mystery Lake - it's a National Park/resort area.

Desolation Point? Nah, it's an abandoned fishing/whaling industry. No family homes there.

Coastal Highway? Hmm, maybe - but the homes here feel more like vacation homes than year-round family homes, so no.

Pleasant Valley? One family home (the farmstead) surrounded by multiple hunting cabins and small cottages. Kids? Probably get bused to the nearest town, which isn't anywhere on these maps.

I grew up in a rural community. There was/still is a small grade school, but we got bused to the next town over for high school. Where I went for summer vacations, it's a tiny village in Wisconsin, the kids there went to school in the larger town ten miles away. So I don't really miss the school here in TLD - I figure it's very similar to the way things are in the rural Midwest.

There is nowhere currently in the game that needs or even fits having a school.

I suppose if Bear Island is ever completely mapped in TLD, then a decent-sized town complete with appropriate amenities would be necessary. But we've only got out-of-the-way places so far. And that's fine.

Yep. I had to sit on a bus for over an hour ever morning to get bussed to school. I don't doubt that there is a school somewhere on Bear Island (assuming there is a town) but it wouldn't make sense, as @hauteecolerider pointed out, to put it anywhere on the maps we've currently seen. If there isn't a town planned for the game at all then any children would likely be home schooled until ready to leave the island.

A tiny school house would be more of a historical site and less of a functioning classroom. Most of them in rural Canada were either converted to something else or preserved. Still, it would be interesting but you're more likely to see a classroom/art gallery or classroom/museum than a one room school house :)

That's it! A small gift shop or museum! Those are in small areas! and it would reveal helpful tidbits, like showing areas of the map and such! Excellent!

I'd love a former school building, preferably one of those cute brick buildings, turned into a museum - No valuable loot, just a truckload of wood and even more books. Might tell some of the areas history!
