FrozenScorpion
Where is the most important food? Where is the Bacon, or more specifically; Canadian Bacon? Is it that bad that even Canadians refuse to eat it? It's a low weight, high calorie food; perfect for survival! Also keeps morale up! Who doesn't get excited from the sounds and smell of frying bacon? (Please forgive me if I'm being an ignorant American. I just want bacon!) hauteecolerider
I want bacon too, but I figure it's so popular that no one is going to leave bacon behind for us survivors to find. Kind of like that elusive bottle of Canadian whiskey . . .
Canadian Beaver
So you folks know, we call it back bacon or peameal bacon and it's actually not super popular up here. most people I know eat regular bacon. Also, this is BC we're talking about. BC is Canada's California: full of low-fat soy latte hippies who wouldn't know what to do with a proper bottle of rye whiskey
hauteecolerider
So that's why there are no bottles of rye to be found anywhere!
FrozenScorpion
Damn them low-fat soy latte hippies, can't even drink a normal Cup O' Joe. Put some damn sugar and cream in it like a Nancy, or drink it black like a Man!
vancopower
Maybe later on we could raise pigs and make our own bacon
cekivi
Also note that bacon decays super quickly. It likely wouldn't last long once the power failed.
FrozenScorpion
All the more valuable! It would be crack for survivalists. If one man hoards a lot of it and can stop it from decaying, that man will wield a lot of power over anybody else that survived. Just like someone who has all the equipment and ingredients to make beer. If you can make beer, an entire community will rise up to protect your precious rear end. Now that would be something to see in the game We'll have to wait and see how NPCs are added. If there are enough to make a village than being mayor/brewmaster may be a viable end goal for the game. Make for a nice outro scene too: snow from the second winter falling outside your modern house, light provided by candles and a roaring fire as you sip a beer in your bearskin bedroll.
