Be able to build own shelter and crafting station

this is what im thinking. maybe a makeshift shelter like a teepee hut or shanty shelter made up of animal skins, wood, sticks and cordage. a log cabin seems unrealistic without proper construction tools.

long dark environment is beautiful yet dangerous. and i want to exercise a higher degree of freedom by making my own shelter wherever i want. and i dont want to walk a few days just to craft in a crafting station.

If you want to get entirely technical, all you need to build a log cabin with "saddle notches" is an axe. It will take some work, and using tools like an auger, an adze and a spud will make the building go easier (much easier), but colonists in New England built log cabins with just an axe.

Simple shelter building is on the roadmap, so we should see it within the next six months. I don't think the feature will allow you to build log cabins or teepees, but some kind of igloo or makeshift shelter with twigs and snow might already be enough to give you the freedom to live whereever you want.
