Let us get tinder at least, just to destroy them and not confuse them with sticks. Second as torches are only craftable now the need for kerosene is much greater because you can't swing your lantern and hope that the wolf will go away. So I purpose all these empty jerry cans let's make them useful by refiling them at a new region which will contain some gas station or oil tanker where we can refill the kerosene but only if we have jerry cans and it should be hard to get there. Also since desolation point there hasn't been another special place where you need to revisit I think it is time Third why not introduce firey arrows drenched in kerosene, they would be awesome against bears. One well placed shot and the bear is roasted all that fur will catch on easily if the source is strong enough like kerosene soaked arrow you would have to waste a match off course to light it up. Lastly please add a zippo lighter which can be refiled with kerosene too. With cool clicking sounds when you use it. AW it will be awesome to have that in the game. It is a stick on fire. When it stops being on fire, it is a stick. Why can't it be a stick again? If there's enough of it left to be represented as an infinitely persistent item on the floor, then there is enough of it left to make a fire with. Like siphoning kerosene from tanks in wings in TWM, or creating small greenhouse in PW, or ability to draw salty water in CH and DP, then evaporate it for salt that could be used to preserve meat(or just an additive), etc Idea was met with 0 interest, so nothing. Fire arrows are another feature that is mostly exclusive to games and movies. Its way 2 ineffective and costly to have any point. First, that arrow wont really do any real damage, not to mention that it would most likely either fall apart midflight(or extinguish), deviate from its course and misses or wont even lit anything on fire. And even miracle happens and it will hit and it will ignite, then bear/wolf will just roll over and put it out. The end. Zippo and lighters in general have been proposed multiple times. Can you be more specific? why do you think this is so unreal? just use some cloth soak it in kerosene wrap it around the arrow and light it up. I can tell you a real story about a Shepard that saved himself from a bear by climbing up a tree and then he threw cigarettes on the bear, eventually the fire spread up because bear fur is very combustible and the bear run away screaming and rolling itself on the ground but it burned up. However that was on normal temperature if it is cold this will not work I think but fire arrow is more likely to succeed let's call the myth-busters to test this out Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Yes even better, although I tried putting lots of things in zippo once like alcohol, gas, acetone everything worked that's why makes this lighter so cool it's like ak-47 workes at any conditions and it will be perfect for TLD I wonder what devs. have to say about that I never saw them comment on lighters topic before. Static accelerant doused target size of a mountain from a distance of like 5 meters with bow with string barely drawn. Its like throwing a torch. Player probably be better off with molotov. How do player must ignite that flaming arrow to begin with ? Presuming he manages to put together something that wont fall apart(or goes off) mid-flight. One hand holds bow, second holding arrow and third... erm, or ask wolf/bear nicely to wait, till you pull it all down(like this idiotic system with making fires, when animal just patiently waits till youre done - i played probably over 100 games till i found out about this, and was all wtf, seriously, they just stand there and wait, no wonder that fire "hunting" is so popular, there is like 0 risk to such method), take out matches, light arrow, then pick up it all, drop it, pick up again, draw, burn fingers, drop again, pick up, reignite...
