1 year?!? That is like nothing and even though it looks great to see that plants are in deed regrowing, I think it is too much coding effort for such small gameplay impact.

For players who plays longrun game sessions in a couple of in-game years such respawns can have a big impact... and immersion aspect...

Wanted to add same about trees... currently in game amounts of wood is finite which is not good for those who want a make records of surviving. Game also lacking nature sources of making bandages. Mankind used bandages for thousands years... so there is no reasons to restrict players to only modern bandages made from cloth which also finite in game.

Fir & cedar limbs, sticks and coal are all respawning resources. You'll never run out of them, it just takes them 2 or 3 days to respawn.

Regarding regrowing plants (cattails, rosehips, lichen, etc.) : Well, in the very long run TLD is intended as a game with a full year seasonal cycle and I'm pretty optimistic that plants will regrow in spring then. At the moment, the game is unfortunately so to say "stuck" in a never-ending winter, but that's just due to its current developmental stage.

I understand your point about being afraid to run out of resources, but let me assure you that it's truely not worth thinking about this possibility. Even if you decide to do a 2000+ day leaderboard run, you're more than unlikely to ever run out of bandages (there are several hundreds of pieces of cloth available ingame).

In my survival I (after about 120) days took all resources to coastal highway and i have more then 80 cloth from just the houses and trailers in coastal highway (out of 1 cloth you can make 2 bandages) also numbers of matches are quite infinite i have plenty arrows and antiseptic (so i dont need any mushroom teas or what is that thing).

I think that you realy dont need any more bandages (i dont know how you do it) even if you want to take wolves 1 on 1 in mele.

And regrowing plants? In winter? I think not. Mabye if they realy make seasons then mabye. But what would you use those plants for? Repairing arows and bow? Or making teas? Sory but i think we have enoughtpills and antiseptic already.

Note: Almost all my in game experiences are from voyager mode so i am sory if in stalker pills are realy scarse even thought i still have plenty.

Sory for the long post and bad english.   :(

well there is a point in a game difficulty. i play longruns for a 100+days on a stalker difficulty. and my posts based on that experience. iam opened for critics but in order of understanding each other i would suggest those who doubt about my reasons first try to survive 100+days on a stalker difficulty.

Even several hundreds bandages is not enough to survive indefinetly on a stalker difficulty. U need to repair your clothes after almost each wolf fight which happens almost everyday (sometime multiple fights). Bullets saved for bears and really desperate times or circumstances. Bow is not reliable weapon - wolfs are pretty fast and there are quite a lot misses happen. All this good iam happy with a difficulty and wish for more realistic troubles of surviving, but at the same time i would like to see a more realistic approach to resources which can be gathered in outdoors from nature.

At some point in game you get most of your clothing swapped for workbench-made and those require hides for repairs, cutting need for cloth significantly, allowing supply of it to last longer.

Wolves are not that hard to avoid, even on stalker, once you get a hang on it. To be honest, when i started playing on Stalker, i expected them to become stronger, instead their amount like doubled, without affecting their difficulty, making them more of an annoyance than threat.

Bow is also quite reliable if you let wolf to get close, within 2-3 meters, when it charges you in straight line and allows easy ohk headshots.

Let me assure you I know what I'm talking about when I tell you that you won't ever run out of bandages in TLD unless you do something really wrong.

I've played a 777 day game more than a year ago when the amount of cloth available was less than half of what it is nowadays. (There were only 3 maps and pillows, towels, curtains, furniture & Co. all weren't harvestable yet. Apart from clothes, there was no source of cloth available at all).

And I didn't run out of bandages in 777 days even though every wolf struggle caused a 100% bleeding back then. I finally died because I lacked antiseptic & antibiotics, but I still had 35 of my initially about 200 pieces of cloth in my base. Just believe me you won't run out of bandages nowadays either. Just wear all clothes you find until they're ruined, harvest them afterwards for cloth and you'll be fine.:winky:
