Favorite camp on Timberwolf Mountain

My favorite is the open cave in echo ravine, but sometimes it's not practical.  It's a great place to get the Starry Sky achievement.  As long as it doesn't blizzard.  It's easy enough if it gets too cold to go to the cave Scyzara mentions.  I usually base up at the Mountaineers Hut.  It's the only real structure.  I stay for days up on the summit in the Tail section too.

@Jolan I set up in Waterfall cave for a short time but my playthrough didn't spawn a corpse or container for storage there.  I tried using the nearest cargo container for storage but it's not very convenient.  I hope we get the ability to build some basic storage and other camp improvements in future--I'd love to give that cave a good try.  It seems like a very nice spot.

I was lucky enough to get a plastic container.  I'd LOVE to be able to move containers.  I'd move all those backpacks I keep finding... they're all empty and just sitting there.

I've been living in the Mountaineer's Hut for 30-40 days now and really like the area and the overall Timberwolf Mountain map. After lots of planning I eventually made it up to the summit and now have my ropes placed so I can get there and back much faster from the Mountaineer's Hut without using the caves or going right around the map.

I have the Hut absolutely chock full of supplies and it makes a great long term base.

My only question on this map is it seems to be really hard to find scrap metal. Now that fishing is becoming a bit more important due to intestinal parasites, I want to be able to make new hooks but it seems like there isn't much metal around (even though I finally have a hacksaw). Am I missing something or is this just not the map to find scrap metal even though there is an abundance of plane parts I could conceivably hack away at.

The only thing I haven't really done so far is use the forge on the Riken so I think I will slowly start gathering up coal and moving it in that direction so I can craft some extra arrow heads, knives and hatchets (but mostly arrow heads).

If you want to visit DP anyway, remember to bring a hacksaw (or pick up the hacksaw inside Hibernia Processing). There's plenty of scrap metal to be harvested in this map, so visiting DP is definitely a great occasion to craft as many fishing hooks as you like. :winky:
