Relo
Wow, this is a great game! I just got so tired of killing ghouls and deathclaws that I was just about to consider hanging up my mouse for good when I came across this game. Now I am excited for the eventual release of the story and all I can say to the devs is stick by your vision, I will wait with anticipation for the real deal. In the mean time, having read lots of opinions and whatnot on Steam, I do have lots of suggestions, many of which it looks like you guys are already working on, so I will boil it down to two "must have" suggestions that I would like to see implemented: 1. Craftable gun rack for my base, like the one in the cabin or the lookout station - if not that, then at least the ability to prop my gun up in the corner. I got tools and a workbench, you think I should be able to make something out of fir or cedar. receipe might be 4 pieces of wood and 2 gut, 2 cloth and say 4 hours construction time? just an idea as I already have 4 rifles and just started playing this character! 2. Craftable torch sconces. holds one torch and can be attached to a wall, or any vertical surface... would be ideal to line the walls of the caves with a little illumination - say one scrap metal for per sconce, 2 hours construction time. requires use of the heavy hammer except now you can use it at a workbench as well as the forge. not just for busting up crates when you not near a forge... Thanks for providing this opportunity to give feedback, Relo
Patrick Carlson
Hi Relo, and welcome! Thanks for your suggestions. And I must admit, I had to look up "sconces." Always nice to learn something new. Illumination has been a popular topic in the community. To be more specific, are you looking for ways to simply brighten interior spaces or is it that you'd like a bit more flexibility with regard to the how light makes the different interior locations "feel," so to speak? Looking forward to seeing you around the forums!
Pillock
To be honest, I'm not sure fixing torches to walls is worth it unless the burn-time is increased somewhat. As things stand, they just go out as soon as you do anything.
common
that is something on my wishlist. The reason i make the abandoned lookout in Coastal Highway my home for now is all the windows all around the top. Finally i don't have to light a torch or a lantern during day time to enjoy my space and how neatly the soda cans are placed. Even on a clear night one can see around the interior pretty well. Yes, some sort of interior illumination mechanic that lasts longer than a torch or even a lantern, and is not so greatly limited by fuel would be AMAZING. Maybe one could find a one or two solar panel , just enough for a few light bulbs. If one was able to link these with wire then the mine shaft darkness would be much more enjoyable as one can now light passage ways. Anyways....once in a while a game comes along that grabs a player by some unknown force, pushes all the right buttons and makes us lost in the world we play...this is one of those games, thank you Hinterland for making my weekends and evenings so much better. I wonder when next weekend will bring

Looking forward to seeing you around the forums! Ahhh... yes "sconces" a relatively new word to my vocabulary as well, except for the fact that my wife made me put a couple in our living room, had to get an electrician for that, lol. But in answer to your query Mr. Carlson, perhaps a little bit of both, but primarily it would be to illuminate interior spaces. Currently a player only has the the option to lay the burning torch on the floor, a counter or a shelf. the height of the item and the way it is placed affects the lighting pattern which does affect the "mood" or feel of the space. In addition there is the aesthetic factor to consider as well, it just would look nicer, more organized than a torch laying on a countertop, imho. And on a side note, thank you for personally responding. This is the first forum where I have actually gotten feedback to my comments from the develop team professionals. Doc Gonzo
I've been reading and posting here for a hot minute Relo and I just wanted to chime in with a resounding, darn good ideas! im sure others have suggested what you propose but it's the first I've seen them and they seem like nice, easy to introduce ideas that don't have major secondary or third order effects on gameplay mechanics. I'm loving those suggestions!
