Canoes and Horses? Did I read that right?

So I was looking at the road map and saw the possible introduction of canoes and horses as means of transportation.

Well that got me to thinking, I haven't seen and open water yet, so unless I am going to be white water canoeing down one of the major waterfalls where are we going to be using a canoe?  Will I have to drag the canoe out to the weak ice before I find open water?  Given the wind, I would think one of those ice sail boats would be awesome to use along the coastal highway.  Biggest expanse of ice I can think of and I would spend the days "ice sailing" and taking pot shots at wolves as I raced by!

So that brings me to horses...  yummy!

I guess you missed another of the roadmap additions: seasons

Canoes will have a use once the winter passes.

Oh, I sure did miss that!  Now I am rather looking forward to it.
