piddy3825
Whew, It was a long and arduous journey, fraught with complications and bad decisions that should have killed me but didn't... After no less than 4 attempts at conquering the summit the gods smiled and decided not to punish me for my arrogance of wanting to touch the sky. Between the sprains and the sudden brutal weather changes I'd had to abandon my quest all to often to either heal or repair gear or resupply again and again just to get ready for the assault. I didn't really need to go up there, living off the land on TWM isn't all that hard, plenty of game, plenty of fuel, easily accessible cargo pods with lots of goodies within short walking distance of the hut. Yeah, life is good... but then I heard you can know shoot a bear with a flare gun? Are you kidding me? Oh, Snap! I gotta get this flare gun!Off to the summit! I packed light, but I packed right and I left for the top while it was still night. I miraculously managed to dodge fluffy at every turn, somehow didn't get sprained once and found myself at the last two ropes up with about 4 hours til sundown. I was tired, hungry and cold but up I went up that first rope, and the stamina meter bar was red and the top was almost there, almost there, oh please, no, don't let me fall. WHEW, oh my gosh, I'm so close but that last rope is looking like a long climb. I quickly grab some sticks and make myself a nice little 2 hour fire and take a quick 1 hour catnap. Last rope just shy of three hours daylight left and I go for it. For some reason when I grabbed the rope, I fully expected to hear some kinda fanfare soundtrack like a musical score in a movie with a "tah dah dah dah." But no, just the lonely sound of the wind blowing and a wolf's howl off in the distance. Thank you development team for putting those two ledges just shy of the summit, because I had to stop at both or else risk falling to my death. I wish I could have seen myself reach the summit third person view, cause I'm pretty sure I was inching up along on my belly those last few feet up that rope. As I saw the landing gear, my own voice echoed in my ear "I'd lay down right here..." and with a sense of urgency I made a bee line for the tail and the bounty that it held. As I approached the doorway , there in the snow, I found the body. I presume it was the climber who's note I had read down below at the hut. He didn't have anything on him and apparently met his maker a mere 10 meters from the prize that was now to sustain me! I spent the next three days up there eating, drinking, repairing everything and preparing for the trip home. Considering everything that I already had at the hut I ended up leaving with the MRE's, peanut butter and crackers the bullets that I found and of course my new flare guy. I wish I could just picked up the entire case, as it would have been a cool decoration to have sitting around in the hut when I got back, oh well. I tidied up the place pretty good organizing all the gear for the next time up, if I decide to go up again. I left over encumbered, but going down the rope is far easier, even with a red stamina meter bar. At the top of the world Home Sweet Home Hmmm.... Which one to open first? If you been to the top, add your screen shot, now that I am down off the mountain, I wish I woulda stayed and taken more pictures.
hauteecolerider
Why oh why did you risk life and limb to summit that mountain? Because it's there . . .

I always find one locker full of crackers and stuff, and one locker full of soda and stuff. One crate always contains canned goods. One crate has a rope. There's always food in the lockers. I play TWM exclusively these days.

So, curious if you might know whether or not there is a player spawn point at Eric's Falls on TWM or are they limited to the echo ravine side and hut sections of the map? short distance to the top from the falls, be a good place to spawn! grimreefer24601
There are other spawns on the map piddy. I'm not sure I know Eric's Falls. I play by memory mostly. Mostly I seem to spawn on the trail between PV and the landing gear. Second seems to be in Echo Ravine. Sometimes I spawn in the deer clearing, and make a straight run to the tail. There's a spawn above the wing lockers also, but it usually sucks because there's not a hacksaw there on those occasions. There's also a spawn right in front of the Mountaineers hut. Just to jog your memory, Eric's Falls, would be the big waterfall with the cave to the right of the falls. Two rope climbs from the summit. grimreefer24601
I don't think there's a spawn there. I've never spawned there.

Recoil911
Congratulations for your success! I still have to see TWM with my eyes in the game! Just for curiosity, how risky it is to climb up to it? And you have to be very well stocked to live in the mountain? Around the Steam Community i saw screenshots with tons of food and tools of every sort in the cottage. But i guess that those were made with the console commands?

You actually find alot of loot scattered around.... but its something of a pain to drag it all to the base camp. I was up on the summit wondering if I made a sled like the Grinches if I could just drop down the side....

No, they disabled console usage some time ago, that is actual booty/loot/goodies recovered from the cargo pods of the crashed aircraft that you see in those screenshots. the climb to the summit can be hazardous but worth the the salvage. Would be cool to see it added in the future for bringing most of a base content from a region to another one,but i guess that somebody else already brought the suggestion. 31 minutes ago, piddy3825 said: No, they disabled console usage some time ago, that is actual booty/loot/goodies recovered from the cargo pods of the crashed aircraft that you see in those screenshots. the climb to the summit can be hazardous but worth the the salvage. I already found some climbing rope in Mistery Lake. Was the access between The dam and PV?

Was the access between The dam and PV? access to TWM only from PV, I do believe. one word of advice, bring extra rope, at least two coils... i know it's heavy, but you can create two shortcuts on the way back down and then basically come and go as you please. remember, you can shimmy down that rope very over encumbered without risk of falling, although there is some... so you can pretty much just about get everything down from the summit in 3 trips or less.
