Dogs

Since we are in regions that were inhabited it seems likely that the people previously living there would have pets including dogs, perhaps we can come across them in the woods hunting rabbits or on the road. We can slowly tame them and have almost like a progression of companionship. The dog can help you more and more as time goes on and you become closer friends, even helping in wolf struggles or something like that. It would invest me in the game more as well as I would have someone else to take care of besides myself. Just because you are the lone survivor after the event that crashed your plane (at least in the sandbox) doesn't mean you have to be alone forever.

And you are from vault 101, right ? :)  maybe in the story mode there will be some kind of companion mechanic. As for now I don't see how it would be possible to  implement such a mechanic since there is lots of time spending like harvesting sleeping, imagine you try to harvest meat and your canine companion attacks another wolf what will happen to the game than ??? fast forward the wolf fight ???  However I am not against surviving alone  I just can't see how it will be integrated with the current game mechanics.
