Smileyattack
Ok so if you read my last 2 posts you know at I said something about the character going insane and you guys had allot of questions but I came up with some reason on why this would work.Ok so first off if you kill someone ,you kill someone you would realize what you had done and say " Oh my god what have I done" slowly you would go crazy thinking about this man/women that you killed.Another reason you could go insane is eating a corpse yeah this one would make sense if your that desperate for food so let's say you killed someone you search them nothing so you would take whatever knife or hatchet you had and get the persons meat and this is honestly disgusting but desperate times call for desperate measures so you would cook them and eat them but you would become sick not sick like you need antibiotics sick like you dream about the person you ate like the family of that person like what if that man or women had a wife or husband maybe even a family, what if the person was going out to get food and since you killed and ate them there entire family is either going to eat each other or die of starvation so like those kind of things would have huge consiquences like what if one of the family members hunted you down and stalked you until you were ambushed you got caught you could surrender and go with them peacefully or since your pretty much mentally insane go and attempted to fight the man off but dying by a gunshot wound in the head instantaneously or if you did surrender the man could knock you out take you to there base tie you up strip you of everything take all of your food water (ex) and just leave the base tied up you could struggle all you want and try to get out but you would die of starvation but if you are lucky you could get untied and find them and kill every last one of them.thanks for reading
hauteecolerider
I think it's difficult enough to convey psychological effects as it is, and I doubt the game can handle this as well as it is handling so many other AI. Everyone has different psychological triggers. Me, personally, I wouldn't have a problem eating a dead person. Killing that person, yes. But if he's already dead and I have no food, that's different. So much of human psychology is dependent on a person's own morality, and that differs from person to person, as we've seen in several (sometimes rather heated) discussions on this forum. Personally, I think this is where the role-playing part in TLD comes into play. In other words, any psychological effects will be all in your own head - regrets, nightmares, etc don't need to be part of the game if they're already in your head. Smileyattack
Yeah I guess so but I'm just saying maybe they could put the nightmares into the game just to give it a little realism

I agree with that one, all those things should be solely up for player, not some arbitrary "sanity" meter, that forces player into rigid patterns. Hunger, dehydration, sleep deprivation are universal values for every1, since its basics, but psychologically we are all different. I feel a bit depressed when im low on supplies. And im terrified when crossing that damn bridge in Ravine, since im acrophobic. But corpses, nope, nada, seen plenty of those irl, creepy at first, but you get used to then fairly fast, just sacks of meat. Shooting person, hmm, dont know, its one of those things that probably no1 on this forum have any actual experience with. But people been killing people for as long as humanity existed and then went on with their lives without much problems. Sure, there are conditions like ptsd, but only fraction of people, who has gone thru extreme traumatic event develop those. And even then it doesnt mean that person becomes suicidal or develop extreme symptoms.
